I am delighted to tell you all that the Pentland Hills Navy Strength ‘Electra’ Gin has been awarded 3 Stars at this year’s
Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Competition. This is just brilliant news, so much so I’ve been howling at my humans all afternoon………well not quite, I’ve been howling because I’m hungry – just sayin’…………woof!
The Award is a very rare accolade and given how small our distillery is we are just delighted that the gin has been selected. For those who don’t know; the gin has been distilled in honour of Head Distiller Phil’s Grandfather who was lost at sea, along with many of his shipmates, aboard HMS Electra when it was sunk during the Battle of the Java Sea.
The Navy Strength Gin has already won a number of awards but this really is the icing on the cake and it is all the more amazing given the tiny quantities of gin that are produced every year on our small farm.
Great Taste is the worlds most trusted food and drinks award and we are looking forward to more people enjoying this gin in the years to come. For those attending the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace on the 24-26 September, Panza and the Pentland Hills Team will be on hand to say hello, offer samples and pour a long g&t – what a way to enjoy a day in the sun (hopefully).
So Panza now has 3 Stars – as he likes to say ‘woof, bark, bark, woof, growl’ = ‘I really am Tasty……….!!’
