Hello Panza Pals!
So here we are in 2021 and I thought it was time to let you know that I’m looking forward to a year of extensive dog walks and some splendid dog treats. Just a quick update, when I last wrote to you it was almost Christmas and we did have a splendid time, albeit our normal friends and family did not come to visit and New Year was very quiet, However, what we have had is lots and lots of snow and for a Labrador who likes to be out and about its been just brilliant…..
January has been quite a busy month, I along with my doggy family get walked a couple of times a day, because the weather is cold and wet our nice humans always give us a towel rub down when we get back – they can be particularly nice if the towel has just come from the radiator. You see being a dog can be
sooooo hard!
There is quite a lot of work going on in the distillery, although the other day things did come to a grinding halt when the water froze in the Still room. What was quite fun to watch was Dad using a hot air gun trying to defrost the valve that controls the water – it didn’t work because the temperature has dropped to something like -12 degrees C and it wasn’t going to start running until it was good and defrosted. Things have now returned to normal and both Mum and Dad are looking a little less stressed (Dad particularly).
There are a couple of things that I thought you might want to know. Firstly, we have been working with our great friend
Nigel (he and Dad served in the RAF together) to produce some brilliant salmon fly brooches (you might recall that Nigel is a great fisherman and Dad is pretty ordinary –
Mum told me to say that). Anyway, the brooches are
available now, so if you're looking for a special gift why not include a brooch with some one of our gin or glass offers.
Also, and this is GREAT NEWS!
The Lanarkshire Gin Alliance miniature gin set is now back on stock and it makes a perfect gift for the Valentines in your life.
So Panza Pals, it has probably not been the start to 2021 that any of us wanted and I know that we are missing visits to and from our loved ones. Here a Pentland Hills Gin we are looking forward to Spring arriving and watching the Hills begin to blossom. The programme for this year is very uncertain so we won’t be getting out and about much but you can always keep tabs on what I am doing by checking out the website and our social media. I have been chatting with my mate Luke (okay he’s a cat but he’s an okay cat) and the 2 of us are going to put together a little dog/cat narrative in the weeks to come – there’s nothing like a bit of perspective from up a tree and this is where Luke likes to take stock whilst I’m sitting at the bottom of it………
